Our School
St. Patrick’s N.S. Tarmon, Leitrim, is situated between Drumshanbo and Drumkeeran near St. Patrick’s Church, Tarmon, overlooking Lough Allen. It is a two-teacher National School, with a Special Education teacher.
The school has Catholic ethos and welcomes families of all faiths and none.The school has been at the heart of the community since 1958.
It has a warm and caring environment where children of all abilities are active in their own learning and encouraged to become independent learners.
Our dedicated staff strive to ensure that each pupil is challenged and developed in all aspects of their learning and given every opportunity to reach their full potential.
We created this site to provide information for parents and members of the school community and to showcase the fantastic work and initiatives of our pupils.

Thank you to everyone who supported the School Coffee Morning recently by attending and sending in donations and baked goods on the day. It’s very much appreciated in aid of such a worthy cause. We were delighted to take part this year in the ‘Love Where You Live’ competition. Thank you to Leitrim County Council and the judges who visited our school for organising such a valuable initiative. Today students were awarded a plaque and €250 prize for their project entry on Climate Action.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was the opportunity for students to learn beyond the classroom. Some of the richest learning experiences come from engaging with local people, listening to their stories, and gaining first-hand knowledge of the place we call home.
We were also delighted to welcome Padraig Fallonwho visited the school to congratulate the students on their achievement and has encouraged them in their projects this year.
Congratulations to all involved on this fantastic accomplishment and for being such positive ambassadors for our school and community. A wonderful way to round off the school year! 🎉👏🌍
